Asier Martínez de Bringas

ASIER MARTÍNEZ DE BRINGAS, Doctor in Philosophy of Law, is a professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Deusto with a long experience of work with indigenous organizations in Latin America. A number of publications on issues such as free, collective rights, prior and informed consent of indigenous peoples, interculturality, territoriality, indigenous autonomy and legal pluralism. Wide number of publications on issues related to the rights of indigenous peoples. He has been the Director of the UN Indigenous Fellowship Programme for Indigenous Leaders coming from South America at the University of Deusto (2004-2006). He has extensive experience in advisory work on issues related to human rights and constitutional law for indigenous peoples in Latin America. He participated in the Constituent Assembly of Ecuador as an advisor.
