SOFIA CEVALLOS is a PhD student at EHESS (LAIOS). She is researching on land rights, the rights of nature, socio-environmental conflicts and the organization of indigenous peoples movement confronted to extractive industries in Ecuador. Her doctoral research is focused on the organization of Waorani and Kichwa peoples who live in the Yasuni Parc (N-W Ecuadorian region of Amazonia) in order to defend their territory in a context characterized by the expansion of the oil border and the constitutionalization of « Good living », an indigenous concept also known as Sumak Kawsay.
